Never Eat Shreded Wheat

Do it! I'm interested to know where people are...go! Then post back - and be honest!

Hey Guys!

Can someone write another post please you boring fucks. Let's not let the love die. I blame Tim. Poetry is hereby banned.

Just to keep to you up to date: 2 new questions rocking my world [making me want to die]:
1. Can developing countries ever catch up with developed countries?
2.  How strong is the obligation to prevent climate change for future generations?

When I finally do some work I'll tell you the correct answer to both of them. Unless anyone has any input on either question?

That is all.

Loquacious limerick

There was once a young man from Perth

Who was incorrigible in espousing his girth

Unbenounced to him

He was embroiled in sin

And was forced to wash it off in the firth

Top 5 Co-op Games

This is definitely not a subjective list. And this blog will definitely appeal to everyone other than Michael.

Teamwork is always good and I've always found my favourite (non-handheld) video grahams have been played with other people, usually because I get scared by monsters, thus there are some pretty notable exceptions in this list that are not proper co-ops but I have fond memories playing with others - e.g. Zelda 64 and Resi 4, Maaario etc. Anyway..

5) Geometry Wars
As I've said and thought, well, a fair few times these last few days [edit. this was written ages ago! so not really], what an awesomely satisfying game. Mmmm kill those shy green squares. Like alot of the games on this list, much of the pleasure comes from doing well in a what can be a ridiculously hard game. Also, however, it's probably the best example of teamwork in action in this list simply because you share the points and lives/bombs so are aiming towards a shared goal so both want to do well and look out for both themselves and the other person. So it's always nice when you're saved from a evil group red things/wormy things/fucking magnety things ETC.

4) Super Mario Galaxy
Definitely haven't played enough of this to do it justice, although I have 'finished' it, still feels like there's lots more to do. In essence this is a really lazy addition to the game, less a co-op mode, more an extension of that bit in Mario 64 when you can play with his nose. However, it makes the game a million times more fun, as it basically means you can 'free run' your way through the game expertly, which is awesome. (I don't need to go into how great the worlds are...)

3) Metal Slug (any, they're all the same)
Fuck that Gunstar Heroes bullshit, it looks like vomit, it's slow and it's boring. Metal Slug, on the other hand, is the complete oposite: absolutely beautiful and really, really fun. Obviously the best co-op run and gun. It's ridiculously hard and I'm obv shit at it [definitely better than Michael though] but who cares when you have continues.

2) Jet Force Gemini
Faithful Floyd. I have very fond memories of lazy summer Sunday afternoon back in Year 9 or so playing this with a friend. Most satisfying splatters ever, seriously, killing a shield ant with your machine gun was awesome. but yeah, on co-op the second player played floaty flying machine robot with big guns floyd, who made it much easier to fire through the game, helping you when you run out of bullets and providing some nice snipes. Worked really well but sadly a very underrated game. I can still feel the horrible, horrible, horrible shots of adrenaline whilst playing it. Sadly, it all ended badly when my fucking gay cartridge corrupted and I lost my save after defeating a boss, which literally took months to do - only killed on co-op! It brought rage, I threw it back in the box and vowed never to speak of it again. Still, great game.

EDIT:

(1.5) Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Kinda forgot but the sub-space missiony thing on that was awesome. Pikachu's electric shock thingy ftw etc.

1) Gradius V
Good times =).

Type 2 + 2 options + lasers + force field + speed ups = pure bliss
Stupidly hitting into the other wall = nothing (or fucking missiles) + other player mysteriously with 4 options and lasers = pure unadulterated hate

IRONICALLY more time is usually spent fighting than actually 'co-operating', most the time is spent competing for power ups or me getting told off for continuing for the 9th time bla bla. But when it's good and we're both DESTROYING the core with lasers together, it's damn awesome. Also, first cut-scene = :)
My God, a Sony game at the top of my list D:
Indeed. Would easily be on a top game list of all time as well, tis great stuff!

food what i like

1) Roast Lamb and Potatoes. Had this on Xmas eve. Fucking hell, it was amazing, the potatoes was the best anyone has ever cooked, EVER. Really crispy after being roasted with the lamb but fluffly and soft inside, all lamby and salty too. Would actually kill to eat this meal again. MMM. *dribble*

2) Macaroni Cheese. Used to be my favourite of all time but it's still up there. Cheese/pasta combos are always good, e.g. carbonara, mmm, and lasagne mmmm. [God I love lasagne, for some reason i especially like the cheap microwavable kind that cost about a quid.] In fact, insert all cheese, pasta type dishes here also, they're always good. My cheesy mushroom pasta is always amazing despite Michael being moaning. I like cheese. Anyway, macaroni cheese - crispy top, creamy inside - yes.

3) Oxtail Stew. It's a Filipino thing, you wouldn't understand. My dad usually makes it when i come back home. It's in a peanut butter sauce and the oxtail is always really tender and just falls off the bone and yum. lots of sauce, rice and vegetables. yes.

4) Sushi. More specifically Yo Sushi! mmm. Pumpkin Kerroke, Salmon skin handroll, chicken katsu curry, salmon terriaki, chicken terriaki, unlimited miso, etc. I could very easily eat there everyday.  Very easily the restaurant i've been to the most. Would go back again.

5) Chicken. Grilled, fried, roasted, souped. all good. definitely better off in my tummy.

6) Things to do with mince meat: Shepherds Pie. Chili con Carne. Spaghetti Bolognaise. All good.

7) Pizza. Obvious, but still when it's good it can be - good. As i've said on many occasions it's all about the tomato sauce for me, i don't usually care how cheesy as long it's got a lot of rich tomato sauce it's good. Lot's of cheese as well, is an extra bonus. I don't care very much for the actual Italian shit you get in restaurants, that's really thin, floury and hard to bite into. I like me a deep pan please, lots of sauce, cheese dripping off, mebbe a bit of pepperoni, mushrooms yeeah.

8) Curry. Creamy Indian ones are good e.g. a chicken pasanda, also really like chinese style ones and thai green of course and also my mother's homemade chicken one with lots of coconut milk and mixed vegetables. mmm. Not too spicy but a little kick is good.

9) Stuff my mother cooks me when i'm hungry and whiney. Spanish tortilla - basically a big crispy potato omlette served with shit loads of ketchup, yum. Spring rolls and rice - a classic.

10) Italian starters. Big sharing dishes full of warm ciabatta and olive oil, olives, good, big sun-dried tomatos, mozarella, cold italian meats. mmmmmmmmm. best part of the meal.

THANK-YOU

Like Chaz's only different II

I was honestly just about to post this link but now it seems like straight ahead Chaz-copying, I have to say I enjoyed the Guinness though.

Anyway, it's an uber-serious, slightly pretentious but generally well-written and thought provoking blog about videogames, with a Shadow of the Colossus header, naturally.
